Simple Acts of Love, Big Impact on Lives

About Sadaqah

Sadaqah, or voluntary charity, is a highly virtuous act in Islam and reflects the strength of one’s faith.
The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) emphasized its importance, saying:

“Protect yourself from Hell-fire, even by giving a piece of a date as charity.” (Sahih Bukhari, Book 24, Hadith 498)

Why Give Sadaqah?

Giving Sadaqah not only strengthens faith but also brings blessings, removes difficulties, and increases rewards.
Allah says in the Qur’an:

“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] that sprouts seven ears; in every ear are a hundred grains. Allah multiplies for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:261)

Sadaqah can be monetary or non-monetary, such as a smile, helping someone in need, or removing harm from the path.

The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said:
“Every act of goodness is Sadaqah.” (Sahih Muslim, Book 13, Hadith 1249)

Rewards of Sadaqah

Purifies Wealth

"Take from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke blessings upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them." (Surah At-Tawbah 9:103)

Multiplies Rewards

"Whoever gives charity equal to a date from good (halal) earnings—and Allah only accepts what is good—Allah will take it in His right hand and bring it up for him, as one of you brings up a colt, until it becomes like a mountain." (Sahih Bukhari, Book 24, Hadith 493)

Provides Shade on the Day of Judgment

"The shade of a believer on the Day of Resurrection will be their charity." (Sunan Al-Tirmidhi, Book 6, Hadith 604)

Protects from Calamities

"Sadaqah extinguishes the wrath of the Lord and protects against the evil death." (Tirmidhi, Hadith 664)
